Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Nurture, a plant care reminder app. The short version: the app and everything on your phone is yours, a subscription is optional and is billed by Apple or Google, and nothing you made is deleted if a subscription ends. Please read the rest too.
Using Nurture
Nurture's core is free: you can add plants, set care schedules, get reminders and mark care done, with or without an account. An account is optional and is needed only for features that use our server, such as identifying a plant from a photo, households, cloud backup and plant gifts. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not misuse the service, for example by scripting requests to it, trying to get around the monthly identification allowance, or sending content you have no right to share.
Plant care information
The plant guide, care suggestions and plant identification are general information, offered in good faith. They can be wrong. An identification is a suggestion, not a certainty. Never eat, handle or give a plant to a child or a pet based on what the app says; check toxicity and safety with a reliable source or a professional. Nurture does not guarantee any plant's health.
Subscriptions
Nurture offers two optional subscriptions, Premium for one person and Premium Household for a household of up to five people, each monthly or yearly. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Billing. Payment is taken by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by Nurture, and is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then current price until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your store's subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android: Google Play, Payments and subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. The stores handle refunds; ask Apple or Google.
- Price changes. If a price changes, the store tells you and, where required, asks for your agreement before the new price applies to you.
- Founding price. While the offer is shown in the app, the first 500 subscribers on each store keep the price they subscribed at for as long as their subscription continues without a break. If it lapses and you subscribe again later, the price on sale then applies.
- If a subscription ends. Nothing you made is deleted. Your plants, schedules, history and photos stay on your phone, and the core app keeps working. If you owned a household, it becomes your own collection of plants; its other members lose access to it, as if they had been removed. Subscribing again can bring that household back.
Households, caretakers and gifts
A household is a collection of plants that several people care for together. The person who subscribes is its owner. The owner can invite and remove people, can delete plants and history, and can end the household. Members can add and edit plants and complete care; they cannot delete. A caretaker is a person the owner gives time-limited access, who can mark care done and nothing else, and whose access ends on its date. Plants, notes and photos in a household are stored on our server so everyone in it can see them, and are removed from a person's phone when they leave or are removed.
The owner of a household can give a plant to another person with a one-time gift code, valid for 7 days. Nothing is sent to anyone until they accept. When they do, they receive their own copy of the plant with its care tasks, history and photos, and the plant is removed from the giver's phone and household. Until then it stays where it was, and the giver can take the gift back.
Your content
Your plants, photos and notes are yours. By using the features that need our server (households, cloud backup, gifts, identification) you allow Nurture to store and process them to provide those features, and for nothing else. How information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Advertising
The free version of Nurture shows advertisements. Subscribers do not see them.
Changes and availability
Nurture is a small, evolving app. Features can change, and the service can be interrupted. If a feature that you pay for is removed, the developer will say so in the app's release notes. If the developer ends the service, the core of the app continues to work on your phone without it.
Apple and Google
If you use Nurture on iPhone, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies between you and Apple, and these terms add to it. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for support for it.
Limits on responsibility
Nurture is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, the developer is not liable for lost plants, missed or late reminders, or indirect loss arising from using the app, and the developer's total liability for anything arising from your use is limited to the amount you paid for a subscription in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Nurture at any time, and can delete your account from the app, under Settings, Account, Delete account. The developer may suspend an account that abuses the service.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version is published here with a new date. If a change affects what you pay for or what you can do, it will also be described in the app's release notes.
