Support
Nurture is a plant care reminder app made by one person. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, writing to me is the fastest way to get it looked at.
Get in touch
The quickest way is from inside the app: Settings → Send feedback. If something has just gone wrong, the error message offers Report this, which sends the error along with your note. Add your email if you would like a reply.
Or email appnurture1@gmail.com. I read everything and usually reply within a few days.
If you are reporting a problem, these three things help more than anything else:
- What you did, and what happened instead of what you expected
- Your device and OS version, for example "iPhone 14, iOS 18.2"
- The app version, shown at the bottom of the Settings screen
Reminders are not arriving
This is the most common problem, and it is almost always the operating system rather than the app. Two things to check:
- Notification permission. Open Settings inside Nurture. Under Reminders it will say whether notifications are enabled on this device. If they are blocked, tapping that row takes you to the system settings where you can allow them.
- Battery optimisation, on Android. Some manufacturers stop background apps aggressively, which can delay or drop scheduled reminders. Allowing Nurture to run unrestricted in your phone's battery settings fixes it.
Getting your plants back
Nurture keeps everything on your device, which means an uninstall takes it with it. Settings has Create backup, which writes a single file containing every plant, schedule, photo, and history entry. Keep that file somewhere you trust and Restore from backup will bring it all back on a new phone.
Your plants are never stored with an account, even if you sign in, so there is nothing for me to recover on your behalf. The backup file is the only copy.
Requests and ideas
Very welcome, at the same address. Nurture is deliberately narrow, so not everything gets built, but knowing what people actually want is what decides what does.
Privacy
What the app collects and what it does not is set out in the privacy policy.
